welcome to floraternum

howdy! for my first blog post, i just wanted to talk a little about the process of setting up my website, the excitement and fear of uploading it, and my hopes and goals for the future of floraternum dot com!

so, hi there, and welcome to my blog, portfolio, and the landing page for all things floraternum. i've been working on this website for a while now, and the decision to finally set it to live on january 1st, 2023 was a scary one, but i'm glad i'm now going to be able to have a more organized way of compiling my growth and projects while i work hard to move my art career to a bigger, brighter, stronger, and smarter setup.

so what has gone into this website? well, i know that at launch it's not going to be at it's best potential, that's a given. what i know even more certainly is that i'm proud of what i'm showcasing. some of my prouder and more recent projects will be uploaded, i'll slowly be adding things to my shop, and while i have one or two now, i hope to get some good pictures of me and my art up here as well. my hope is that people will get a good idea of who i am and what goes into the creation of my art before they decide to purchase.

i know i'm going to have an artist bio on here, but also expect a blog post or a dozen about me and my life. in summation though, i'm someone who does anything i can to express myself. between the art, poetry, my history with music and with my life, there's an infinite amount of, as my friends would put it, "chase lore", to be found.

as far as uploading the website goes, yeah i'm scared, but i also know not that many people will see it right at first, and like sure that's scary too. but also it relieves some of the stress. i'm sure that my biggest fan probably doesn't even know i exist yet, well, unless my mom already has them beat, thanks diana <3. anyways, i think there is more confidence and excitement than fear. it's not even just excitement, i'd say it's more of a fondness for this new chapter. i'm not begging for it to start, but i'm welcoming the new me and the new floraternum with open arms and while covered in paint.

of course the goal of the website is to get people looking at my art, business growth, and accepting that i must be a slave to capitalism in order to pay rent. such is life, but it's more than that for me personally. see, i know floraternum is to a lot of people just a username or something that sounds nice. it means flowers eternally, or flowers forever. i think this website gives me a space to open up to people about what's beautiful. there's always time to bloom, y'know? but floraternum is not just that definition or that username to me. i have put my all into making floraternum and i see myself as the business. "well, duh dude. it's your art." but if you decide to stick around and keep up with me, you'll hopefully see why i pride myself in being chase arthur, the wizard formally known as floraternum.
